Candidates should note that the figures are interim and unaudited. The final audited placement report is expected to be released around September or October 2026.
IIM Trichy Placements 2026 Out
The IIM Trichy Placements 2026 process covered a total batch of 455 students across PGPM and PGPM-HR. After excluding 11 students who opted out, 444 students registered for placements.

| Students who opted out | 9 | 2 | 11 |
| Students registered for placements | 398 | 46 | 444 |

| Companies completing recruitment | 250 | 53 | 303 |

IIM Trichy Average Package and Highest Package 2026
The IIM Trichy average package for PGPM stood at ₹18.00 LPA when ESOPs were included. The average package excluding ESOPs was ₹17.50 LPA.
The highest package for PGPM was ₹44.98 LPA including ESOPs and ₹33.12 LPA when ESOPs were excluded.
| Programme | Minimum Package | Highest Package | Median Package | Average Package |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PGPM/MBA including ESOPs | ₹9.00 LPA | ₹44.98 LPA | ₹16.75 LPA | ₹18.00 LPA |
| PGPM/MBA excluding ESOPs | ₹9.00 LPA | ₹33.12 LPA | ₹16.75 LPA | ₹17.50 LPA |
| PGPM-HR/MBA-HR | ₹10.00 LPA | ₹20.00 LPA | ₹14.50 LPA | ₹15.18 LPA |
Only 23 of the 357 PGPM offers included ESOPs. No ESOPs were included in the PGPM-HR offers.
The difference between the highest package with and without ESOPs is important. ESOPs are linked to company valuation and vesting conditions and may not translate into immediate cash compensation. Candidates should therefore compare fixed salary, variable pay, joining bonus and ESOP components separately.
The median PGPM package remained ₹16.75 LPA with or without ESOPs. This suggests that ESOP-based packages were limited to a relatively small part of the batch and did not significantly affect the typical student outcome.

IIM Trichy PGPM and PGPM-HR Placement Comparison
The PGPM and PGPM-HR programmes differ in batch size, career focus and compensation outcomes.
| Placement Parameter | PGPM/MBA | PGPM-HR/MBA-HR |
|---|---|---|
| Registered students | 398 | 46 |
| Students placed | 357 | 30 |
| Interim placement rate | 89.7% | 65.2% |
| Average package | ₹18.00 LPA including ESOPs | ₹15.18 LPA |

| Highest package | ₹44.98 LPA including ESOPs | ₹20.00 LPA |
| Students still participating | 41 | 16 |
PGPM offers broader career opportunities across consulting, finance, analytics, marketing, operations and general management.
PGPM-HR is more specialised and is suited to students targeting careers in talent management, HR consulting, compensation, organisational development, employee relations and HR analytics.
The PGPM-HR placement rate appears lower in the interim report because 16 of the 46 registered students were still participating in placements. Therefore, the current number should not be treated as the final placement percentage.
How Many Students Were Placed in IIM Trichy Placements 2026?
A total of 387 students had accepted offers as of April 20, 2026.
This included:
- 357 PGPM/MBA students
- 30 PGPM-HR/MBA-HR students
Based on 444 registered students, the overall interim placement rate was approximately 87.2%.
However, this is not the final placement percentage. Another 57 students were still participating in recruitment processes. The final placement rate will depend on how many of these students receive and accept offers before the placement cycle closes.
The report also clarifies that placement outcomes include students from the graduating batch even if they participated in an international exchange programme.
IIM Trichy Sector-Wise Placements 2026
IT and IT Analytics accounted for the highest number of offers, followed closely by Banking, Financial Services and Insurance.
| Sector | PGPM Offers | PGPM-HR Offers | Total Offers | Share of Offers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IT and IT Analytics | 102 | 1 | 103 | 25.4% |
| Banking, Financial Services and Insurance | 96 | 6 | 102 | 25.2% |
| Manufacturing, Pharma, Hospitality and Logistics | 78 | 12 | 90 | 22.2% |
| Consulting and Media Services | 64 | 8 | 72 | 17.8% |
| FMCG, FMCD, E-commerce and Retail | 33 | 5 | 38 | 9.4% |
| Total | 373 | 32 | 405 | 100% |
IT and Analytics and BFSI together contributed more than half of all offers. This indicates strong hiring demand for analytics, technology and finance-related roles.
At the same time, 90 offers came from manufacturing, pharma, hospitality and logistics. The wider sector mix reduces dependence on a single industry and provides students with more diverse career options.
The interim report does not provide a company-wise recruiter list or role-wise distribution. Therefore, specific companies should not be labelled as confirmed IIM Trichy recruiters for 2026 unless the institute publishes them separately.
IIM Trichy PPOs, Campus Offers and Companies
IIM Trichy received 77 pre-placement offers and 328 campus offers across the two programmes.
| Offer Type | PGPM | PGPM-HR | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-placement offers | 73 | 4 | 77 |
| Campus offers | 300 | 28 | 328 |
| Total offers | 373 | 32 | 405 |
PPOs accounted for approximately 19% of the total offers. A strong PPO count generally reflects positive internship conversions, as these offers are typically made based on student performance during summer internships.
BFSI contributed 25 PPOs across both programmes, while IT and Analytics contributed 18. FMCG, FMCD, e-commerce and retail contributed 16 PPOs.
A total of 303 companies had completed their recruitment process, while 13 companies still had ongoing processes. The PGPM programme received 373 offers from 250 companies, resulting in 357 students being placed. PGPM-HR received 32 offers from 53 companies, resulting in 30 students being placed.
What Do the 405 Offers in the IIM Trichy Placement Report Include?
The headline figure of 405 offers includes second offers and revoked offers.
| Offer Classification | PGPM | PGPM-HR | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total offers received | 373 | 32 | 405 |
| Second or dream offers | 10 | 1 | 11 |
| Offers revoked | 6 | 1 | 7 |
| Offers accepted for joining | 357 | 30 | 387 |
Eleven second offers were secured under the institute’s dream-offer provision. Seven offers were revoked.
The report states that one company revoked offers due to internal restructuring driven by automation and developments in agentic AI. This disclosure highlights how changing business conditions can affect recruitment even after an offer is issued.
For evaluating actual placement outcomes, the 387 accepted offers are more meaningful than the gross figure of 405 offers.
The institute has also stated that complete joining letters with CTC breakups were unavailable for certain companies when the interim report was prepared. Previous years’ compensation data was used in such cases. The salary figures may therefore change after the formal audit.
IIM Trichy Placement Trends and ROI
The interim PGPM average package of ₹18.00 LPA is relatively close to the median package of ₹16.75 LPA. This is a more useful indicator than the ₹44.98 LPA highest package because the median better represents the outcome of a typical student.
Candidates evaluating IIM Trichy ROI should compare the programme fee with the median and fixed compensation rather than the highest CTC. They should also consider education loan interest, taxes, variable pay, bonus components, ESOP vesting and monthly take-home salary.
The key positives from IIM Trichy Placements 2026 include:
- 387 accepted offers as of April 20, 2026
- More than 300 companies completing recruitment
- 77 pre-placement offers
- Strong hiring from IT, Analytics and BFSI
- Broad participation from manufacturing, consulting, consumer and logistics sectors
The final assessment should be made after the audited placement report is released. However, the interim numbers indicate diversified recruiter participation and competitive salary outcomes, particularly for the PGPM batch.
IIM Trichy Placements 2026: Conclusion
The interim IIM Trichy Placements 2026 report indicates competitive outcomes, particularly for the PGPM batch. The programme recorded an average package of ₹18.00 LPA, a median package of ₹16.75 LPA and a highest package of ₹44.98 LPA, including ESOPs. The institute also received 405 offers, of which 387 were accepted for joining.
Candidates should evaluate IIM Trichy placements using the median package, fixed compensation, placement rate and sector diversity rather than relying only on the highest CTC. Since 57 students were still participating in recruitment, the final audited report may present improved placement numbers. The strongest takeaway is the institute’s diversified hiring across technology, BFSI, manufacturing, consulting and consumer sectors.
