Greetings, Whenever I start with a mock there is always some kind of huge pressure in the Verbal section that is leading to fewer marks in Verbal but later on, the pressure decreases in the other section. Although I'm most comfortable with Varc still the problems persist. Could you please guide me on how to overcome this.

Hi The reason we give mocks is to get accustomed to such things so that when we face CAT it seems we are giving just another mock , and as you said you are facing pressure and are not able to perform well because of this , the reason can be when we take pressure is we expect a too much from ourselves as it is the section which is our strength and we want to maximize the marks , try to start the paper in a very good frame of mind without worrying about anything , it is just a mock or an exam , enjoy the exam , don't put any burden on yourself that if I screw up then what , be very calm try to have a sip of water in every 5 mins , and try to give more mocks in the first week of November and try to get used to as much as you can because in CAT there will be pressure we cannot deny that but we cannot take any additional pressure so try to be normal, just take it is an exam and don't worry about external factors .Also the pressure later decreases because you adapt to exam till the time VARC is over try to get used to it as soon as you start the paper and for that appear for a mock or two extra than planned (But only till 12TH November )

how to create consistency in VARC section

Hi To be more consistent in VARC , first try to be well versed with the type of questions you are most comfortable with for ex CR questions or inference questions etc and then in every VARC test do not leave those questions and always attempt them in every VARC section . Analyze every mock in VARC very well , learn from the mistakes and try not to repeat them in the further tests.

Hey my VARC is going great and I avg a 95. I only face difficulty in parajumbles because I figure out the combinations but not the order. DILR and Quant I'm stuck at 60s-70s. with one month to go how to pull these two sections Atleast to 85%ile. I've watched all the videos and am suffocating in material. please tell me how to improve and reach my benchmark and also what material should I only touch in the last month to go

Hi First of all it is quite impressive if you are averaging 95 in VARC in mocks and you have a very good chance to score high in actual CAT if you are able to replicate your performance of mocks in CAT. Now as we have only 29 days left for CAT so for QA it is not recommended to start solving or studying which you haven't done in past few months in other words don't go for any new topic now , start revising your concept notes and regularly revise formulas , go through the formula pdf at least once in two days , for solving try to solve all daily targets along with past year CAT questions . Sme goes for DILR but in LRDI try to solve mock questions as well along with daily targets and past year questions and also appear for all the LRDI sectionals , in LRDI solving helps so try to solve as much as you can and try to extract as much as you can from every sectional without focusing on score , always be aware you have to solve set in CAT , sectionals prepare you for the same so even if you couldn't solve in sectional or scored low just analyze and solve and move forward. Proud of you for getting 95 percentile in Va rc. for DI lr just solve 8 daily targets/ 1 sectional and 4 daily targets everyday for quant refer to sections you're weak at in Arun Sharma and solve corresponding daily targets. do these things before your exam's time slot and religiously give your mock in the time slot you're alloted. this is my strategy since i'm facing the exact same problem except that my scores in QA and Di lr are in the range of 5 - 27 marks.
