Hi Yes Mass Point Geometry is a good concept and it helps to solve geometry questions which involves ratios of sides a bit faster than few other methods but make sure you divide and allocate weights properly.

Hi, I scored a 710 GMAT (Q49, V37) last year. I have 2 questions: 1.What was the last year cutoff for SPJIMR ? 2. Quant 49 unfortunately corresponds to 74%ile. I am just one percentile point short of the cutoff (75%ile) Is there any way to circumvent this or do I straight away have to score a 710+ now?

Hi, to answer your first question, the cutoff percentile (in GMAT) for SPJIMR is as follows: Overall percentile: 85%ile Verbal Review percentile: 75%ile Quantitative Review percentile: 75%ile You need to clear each of them. Also, these cutoffs are strict and if you fail to miss any of these, your profile would not be shortlisted. However, you can raise a query while filling out their form. SPJIMR Admission team is very responsive and you will definitely hear back from them. Now to answer the second part, Q49 to Q50 transition is not as tough as Q50 to Q51 is You need to find out where you are going wrong, whether it is PS or DS. In DS, the best way to improve accuracy is to slow down; to ensure this, you might need to improve your speed in the PS questions. Also, the cutoffs of SPJIMR for CAT/GMAT/XAT(till 2019) have been very standard throughout the years and they are unlikely to negotiate on this aspect. It is better to go for a better GMAT score, which will indirectly increase your chances of converting your calls.

Hi In CAT I would advice you to use calculator as less as possible, In DI you can calculator for approximations however from past few years in DI based sets, Questions have appeared which do not involve much use of calculator . Why are the sectionals classified as easy, medium and difficult? The exam will have a assortment of questions of varying difficulties. And selection of questions is a skill we need to learn through sectionals. I request the team to look into this.

All sectionals have a mixture of difficult, easy and medium. The easy sectionals have more easy, medium have more medium and hard have more hard.
