If 16% of an electricity bill is deducted, Rs 1806 is still to be paid. How much was the bill?

Solution

Let the original bill amount = $$Rs. 100x$$

If 16% of an electricity bill is deducted, bill left = $$\frac{100 - 16}{100} \times 100x = 84x$$

According to ques, => $$84x = 1806$$

=> $$x = \frac{1806}{84} = 21.5$$

$$\therefore$$ Original bill amount = $$100 \times 21.5 = Rs. 2150$$

=> Ans - (D)
