Question 94

The solution set of 4x-3y = 10 and 3x + y = 14 is

Solution

Equation 1 : 4x - 3y = 10

Equation 2 : 3x + y = 14

Multiplying equation (ii) by 3 and adding it to equation (i)

=> $$(4x+9x)+(-3y+3y)=(10+42)$$

=> $$13x=52$$

=> $$x = \frac{52}{13}=4$$

Substituting it in equation (ii), => $$y=14-3(4) = 14 - 12 = 2$$

$$\therefore (x,y)=(4,2)$$

=> Ans - (B)
