If the cost price of 48 articles is equal to the selling price of 32 articles, then what is the profit percentage?

Solution

Let cost price of 1 article = Rs. $$x$$ and selling price = Rs. $$y$$

According to ques, Cost price of 48 articles = Selling price of 32 articles

=> $$48x=32y$$

=> $$\frac{x}{y}=\frac{32}{48}=\frac{2}{3}$$

Let $$x=2$$ and $$y=3$$

$$\therefore$$ Profit % = $$\frac{(y-x)}{x}\times100$$

= $$\frac{3-2}{2}\times100=50\%$$

=> Ans - (C)
