A rice trader buys 16 quintals of rice for Rs 5632. 20% rice is lost in transportation. At what rate should he sell to earn 25% profit?
Cost price = Rs. 5632 for 16 quintals
Quantity of rice left with the trader after transportation lost = $$\frac{100 - 20}{100} \times 16$$
= $$\frac{4}{5} \times 16$$ = 12.8 quintals
To have 25% profit, total selling price of the trader should be = $$\frac{125}{100} \times 5632$$
= $$5 \times 1408$$ = Rs. 7040
$$\therefore$$ Selling price per quintal = $$\frac{7040}{12.8} = Rs. 550$$
