The flight fare between two cities is increased in the ratio 11:13. What is the increase (in Rs) in the fare, if the original fare was Rs 12100?

Solution

Let original fare = Rs. $$11x$$

=> New fare = Rs. $$13x$$

Also, original fare = $$12100 = 11x$$

=> $$x = \frac{12100}{11} = 1100$$

$$\therefore$$ Increase in fare = $$13x - 11x = 2x $$

= $$2 \times 1100 = Rs. 2200$$

=> Ans - (B)
