A and B together do a job in 15 days and A alone could do the same job in 20 days. How many days would B take to do half the job if he worked alone?

Solution

Let total work = LCM of 15 & 20 = 60 units

Efficiency of both A & B = 60/15 = 4

Efficiency of A = 60/20 = 3

Efficiency of B = 4 - 3 = 1

So B can complete the half of the job in 30/1 = 30 days

So the answer is option B.
