Question 78

What is the area (in sq cm) of a rectangle if its diagonal is 51 cm and one of its sides is 24 cm?

Breadth = $$b=24$$ cm and Diagonal = $$d=51$$ cm

=> Length of rectangle = $$l=\sqrt{d^2-b^2}$$

= $$\sqrt{(51)^2-(24)^2}=\sqrt{2601-576}$$

= $$\sqrt{2025}=45$$ cm

$$\therefore$$ Area of rectangle = $$lb$$

= $$45 \times 24=1080$$ $$cm^2$$

=> Ans - (C)
