Marked price of an article is ₹1500.

If $$16\frac{2}{3}\%$$ discount is given.

$$16\frac{2}{3}\%\ =\ \frac{50}{300}\ =\ \frac{1}{6}$$

Selling price of an article = $$1500\times\ \left(1-\frac{1}{6}\right)$$

= $$1500\times\ \left(\frac{6-1}{6}\right)$$

= $$1500\times\ \frac{5}{6}$$

= $$250\times5$$

= ₹1250
