We know that (diagonal of a rectangle)$$^2 = (length)^2+(breadth)^2$$
$$(20)^2 = (length)^2+(12)^2$$
$$400 = (length)^2+144$$
$$(length)^2 = 400-144$$
$$(length)^2 = 256$$
length of rectangle = 16 cm
