Let x, y and z be distinct integers. x and y are odd and positive, and z is even and positive. Which one of the following statements cannot be true?

Solution

Take x=3 , z=2 , y=5.

$$y(x-z)^2 = 5(3-2)^2 = 5$$

Option A gives 5 which is odd.
