Question 69

If $$4pxy = (x+2y)^{2}-(x-2y)^{2}$$, then what will be the value of p?

Solution

Expression : $$4pxy = (x+2y)^{2}-(x-2y)^{2}$$

=> $$4pxy = (x^2 + 4y^2 + 4xy) - (x^2 + 4y^2 - 4xy)$$

=> $$4pxy = (x^2 - x^2) + (4y^2 - 4y^2) + (4xy + 4xy)$$

=> $$4pxy = 8xy$$

=> $$p = \frac{8}{4} = 2$$

=> Ans - (D)
