Question 69

If 20% of P = 30% of Q = $$\dfrac{1}{6}$$ of R, then P : Q : R is equal to:

Solution

20% of P = 30% of Q
=> 2P = 3Q
=> $$\dfrac{P}{Q} = \dfrac{3}{2}$$

30% of Q = $$\dfrac{1}{6}$$R

$$\dfrac{3}{10}Q = \dfrac{1}{6}R$$

=> $$\dfrac{Q}{R} = \dfrac{1}{6}\times\dfrac{10}{3} = \dfrac{5}{9}$$

Multiplying P : Q by 5 and Q : R by 2
P : Q = 15 : 10 and Q : R = 10 : 18
Therefore, P : Q : R = 15 : 10 : 18.
