Question 68

The marked price of a radio is ₹ 480. The shopkeeper allows a discount of 10% and still gains 8%. If no discount is allowed, then his gain percent is:

Solution

Given, Marked Price of a radio = Rs.480
Discount = 10% of Rs.480 = Rs.48
Selling Price = Rs.480 - Rs.48 = Rs.432
Profit = 8%
Cost Price = $$Rs.432\times\dfrac{100}{108} = Rs.400$$
If no discount is given, then Selling Price = Marked Price = Rs.480
Therefore, Profit = $$\dfrac{480-400}{400}\times100 = \dfrac{80}{400}\times100 = 20$$%
