If xy = 22 and $$x^2 + y^2$$ = 100, then what will be the value of (x + y)?

Solution

Given : $$(x^2 + y^2) = 100$$ and $$xy = 22$$

Using $$(x + y)^2 = x^2 + y^2 + 2xy$$

=> $$(x + y)^2 = 100 + (2 \times 22)$$

=> $$(x + y) = \sqrt{144} = 12$$

=> Ans - (A)
