Varun purchases 75 articles for ₹ 3150 and sells them at a profit equal to the cost price of 15 articles. What will be the selling price of one article?

Solution

Cost price of 75 articles = Rs. 3150 and cost price of 15 articles = $$\frac{3150}{5}=Rs.$$ $$630$$

Let selling price of 75 articles = Rs. $$75x$$

According to ques,

=> $$75x-3150=630$$

=> $$75x=630+3150=3780$$

=> $$x=\frac{3780}{75}=50.4$$

$$\therefore$$ Selling price of 1 article = Rs. 50.4
