The average age of students is A and the average age of teachers is B. The number of the students is 45 times of the number of teachers. What is average age of students and teachers together?

Solution

Let total teachers is $$x$$, and thus total number of students = $$45x$$

=> Total age of students = $$45Ax$$ and total age of teachers = $$Bx$$

$$\therefore$$ Average = $$\frac{45Ax+Bx}{x+45x}$$

= $$\frac{45A+B}{46}$$

=> Ans - (B)
