The average ages of (P,Q) ; (Q,R) ; (R,P) are 13, 14 and 12 years respectively. What is the age of Q?
Solution
$$\frac{P + Q}{2} = 13$$
$$\frac{Q + R}{2} = 14$$
$$\frac{R + P}{2}=12$$
P+Q = 26
Q+R = 28
R+P = 24
Adding the above three equations ,
2(P + Q +R) = 78
P+Q+R = 39
Age of Q = 39 - 24 = 15
So , the answer would be option c)15 years
