Question 67

If A = $$40 \div 8 + 5 \times 2 - 4 + 4 + 5 of 3$$ and $$B = 24 \div 4(4 + 2) + 19  of   2$$, then what is the value of $$A - B$$?

Solution

Firstly solve bracket then apply bodmass

A = $$40 \div 8 + 5 \times 2 - 4 + 4 + 5 of 3$$

A=  $$5+ 5 \times 2 - 4 + 4 + 15$$

A=  $$5+ 10 - 4 + 4 + 15$$

A= 30

$$B = 24 \div 4(4 + 2) + 19 of 2$$

$$B = 24 \div 4(6) + 19  of   2$$

$$B = 1 + 38$$

= 39

$$A - B$$ = 30 - 39 = -9
