Question 66

The following pie chart shows the respective shares of the ingredients needed to bake a cake.

If the cake weighs 2 kg, then how much baking soda was needed to bake the cake?

Solution

If the cake weighs 2 kg.

total weight of cake = (50+25+15+10)% = 2 kg

100% = 2 kg

Baking soda was needed to bake the cake = 10% = $$\frac{2}{10}$$ kg

= $$0.2$$ kg

We know that 1 kg = 1000 g.

So 0.2 kg = $$0.2\times1000$$ g = 200 g
