Solution

Let total work to be done = 18 units

Sagar's efficiency = $$\frac{18}{18} = 1$$ units/day

Madhur works 2 times faster than Sagar, => Madhur's efficiency = $$1 \times 2 = 2$$ units/day

Madhur and Sagar 1 day's work = 1 + 2 = 3 units/day

=> Time taken by them to finish the work together = $$\frac{18}{3} = 6$$ days
