Question 60

For a candidate to pass an examination, he must score 60% marks. If he scored 345 and failed by 15 marks, then what are the total (maximum) marks for the examination?

Solution

If he scored 345 and failed by 15 marks.

Passing marks for him = 345+15 = 360

For a candidate to pass an examination, he must score 60% marks.

So 60% = 360

1% = 6

Total (maximum) marks for the examination = 100% = 600
