Solution

Let Q's efficiency = $$x$$ units/day

=> P's efficiency = $$2x$$ units/day

Together they finish the work in 36 days.

=> Total work = $$36\times(x+2x)=36\times3x=108x$$ units

$$\therefore$$ Days taken by P alone to finish the work = $$\frac{108x}{2x}=54$$ days
