The total weight of 12 boys and 8 girls is 1080 kg. If the average weight of boys is 50 kg, then what will be average weight of girls?
Solution
Given, Average weight of 12 boys = 50 kg
Then, Total weight of 12 boys = 50*12 = 600 kg
Given, Weight of 12 boys + Weight of 8 girls = 1080 kg
600 kg + Weight of 8 girls = 1080 => Weight of 8 girls = 480 kg
Average weight of 8 girls = $$\dfrac{480}{8} = 60$$ kg
