Let the two numbers be $$x$$ and $$y$$
According to ques,
=> $$x+y=3(x-y)$$
=> $$x+y=3x-3y$$
=> $$3x-x=y+3y$$
=> $$2x=4y$$
=> $$\frac{x}{y}=\frac{4}{2}=\frac{2}{1}$$
