If ₹1,000 is divided into three parts in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5, find the value of the smallest part.

Solution

If ₹1,000 is divided into three parts in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5.

Let's assume the three parts are 2y, 3y and 5y.

2y+3y+5y = 1000

10y = 1000

y = 100

value of the smallest part = 2y

= $$2\times100$$

= ₹200
