Let the total work be 880 units (LCM of 22 and 40)
Efficiency of A + B = 880/40 = 22 units/day
They worked together for 30 days.
Work completed in 30 days = 22*30 = 660 units
Remaining work = 880-660 = 220 units.
220 units of work completed by A alone in 22 days.
Then, Efficiency of A = 220/22 = 10 units/day
A alone can do the work in $$\dfrac{880}{10} = 88$$ days
