A bag contains coins of 1 rupee, 50 paise and 25 paise in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 4. If the total moneyin the bag is ₹ 225, then how many 50 paise coins are there?

Solution

1 Rs

50 paise = 0.5 Rs

25paise = 0.25 Rs

Given that

$$1\times1x + 0.5\times2x+0.25\times4x$$= 225

3x= 225

X= 75

So 50 paise coins = 2×75

= 150
