Question 52

An article is sold at 22.5% profit. What is the ratio of the cost price to the selling price?

Solution

22.5% = profit℅

Let us consider 100 as cost price

profit

=$$\frac{225}{1000}\times100$$

= 22.5

Selling price will be ,

Cost price + profit = 100+22.5

                S.p              = 122.5

the ratio of the cost price to the selling price

= $$\frac {100}{122.5}$$

= $$\frac {1000}{1225}$$

= $$\frac {40}{49}$$
