The height of the equilateral triangle is 9 cm. What is the radius (in cm) of the circle circumscribing the three vertices?

Solution

ABC is an equilateral triangle with height = median = 9 cm

Now, O is the circumcentre of the triangle and it divides the median in the ratio 2:1

=> $$AO=\frac{2}{(2+1)}\times9$$

=> $$AO=\frac{2}{3}\times3$$

=> $$AO=2\times3=6$$ cm

=> Ans - (B)
