An angle is greater than its complementary angle by 40°. Find the measure of the angle?
Let the angle = $$\theta$$
Its complementary angle = $$(\theta - 40$$°$$)$$
Sum of an angle and its complementary angle = 90°
=> $$\theta + (\theta - 40$$°$$) = 90$$°
=> $$2 \theta = 90$$°$$ + 40$$°$$ = 130$$°
=> $$\theta = \frac{130}{2} = 65$$°
