If curved surface area of a cylinder is 616 sq cm and height is 14 cm, find its radius?

Solution

Let radius of cylinder = $$r$$ cm and height = 14 cm

Curved surface area of cylinder = $$2 \pi r h = 616$$

=> $$2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r \times 14 = 616$$

=> $$4 \times 22 \times r = 616$$

=> $$r = \frac{616}{88} = 7$$ cm
