Solution

Each child takes twice the time taken by a man to finish the work, => 2 children = 1 man

Thus, 8 children = 4 men

Hence, (4+12) = 16 men complete the work in 9 days.

=> 12 men will finish in = $$\frac{16\times9}{12}=12$$ days
