The ratio of salaries of P and Q last year is 4 : 5. The ratio of last year salary and the presentsalary of P is 3: 5 and for Q this ratio is 2 : 3. If their total salary at present is Rs. 6800, what is salary of Q ?

Solution

Let say, last year P and Q's salary was 4k and 5k.

Now,

(4k/P prsnt salary)=3/5

or, P present salary=20k/3.

Similarly,

Q present salary =15k/2.

Now,

(20k/3)+(15k/2)=6800.

or, 40k+45k=6×6800

or, k=(6×6800)/85=480.

Q's present salary=480×(15/2)=3600 Rs.

B is correct choice.
