Present ages of R and P are in the ratio of 9 : 11 respectively. After 7 years, their ages will be in the ratio of 26 : 31 and sum of their ages will be 114 years. What is the present age (in years) of P?

Solution

Let present age of R = $$9x$$ years and of P = $$11x$$ years

According to ques,

=> $$\frac{9x+7}{11x+7}=\frac{26}{31}$$

=> $$279x+217=286x+182$$

=> $$286x-279x=217-182$$

=> $$7x=35$$

=> $$x=\frac{35}{7}=5$$

$$\therefore$$ Present age of P = $$11\times5=55$$ years

=> Ans - (C)
