What is the area (in square units) of the figure enclosed by the x-axis, the y-axis and the line x + 2y = 6 ?

Solution

Solving the equation $$x+2y=6$$ by putting $$x=0$$, => $$2y=6$$

=> $$y=3$$

Similarly, by putting $$y=0$$, => $$x=6$$

Thus, plotting graph of points : $$(0,3)$$ and $$(6,0)$$

Thus, area = $$\frac{1}{2}\times3\times6=9$$ sq.units

=> Ans - (C)
