If 27 * 4 = 77 and 31 * 9 = 239, then 21 * 6 = ?

Solution

Given : 27 * 4 = 77 and 31 * 9 = 239

The pattern followed is : $$a*b=a\times(b-1)-b$$

Eg :- $$27\times(4-1)-4=(27\times3)-4=77$$

and $$31\times(9-1)-9=(31\times8)-9=239$$

Similarly, $$21\times(6-1)-6=(21\times5)-6=99$$
