The diagonal of a square is 12 cm what is the length (in cm) of its side?
Let side of square = $$a$$ cm
Diagonal of square = $$d=12$$ cm
=> $$(a)^2+(a)^2=(d)^2$$
=> $$2a^2=(12)^2=144$$
=> $$a^2=\frac{144}{2}=72$$
=> $$a=\sqrt{72}=6\sqrt2$$ cm
