Question 227

How is T related to W ?
I. Ts only sister is married to M.
II. Ws mother is the only daughter of M.

Solution

Clearly both statements alone are insufficient to answer the question, since both T and W are not mentioned together in each statement. Thus, combining both statements, we get :

T's only sister is married to M, => M is the brother in law of T.

W's mother is the only daughter of M, => W is the grandchild of M.

But genders of T and W are unknown, thus we cannot find the relation between them even after combining both statements.

=> Ans - (D)
