Question 19

A man starts from point A, walks 10 km East, then turns to his right and walks 5 km. He again turns to his right and walks 10 km. Finally, he turns to his left and walks 5 km to reach point B. In which direction is point B from point A?

Step 1: Start at A: (0,0).

Step 2: 10 km East = (10,0).

Step 3: Turn right (facing South) and 5 km = (10, −5).

Step 4: Turn right (facing West) and 10 km = (0, −5).

Step 5: Turn left (from West, left = South) and 5 km = (0, −10).

So point B is at (0, −10) relative to A — that is, 10 km South of A.
