In a row of students, Rohan is 12th from the left end and Sunita is 15th from the right end. If they interchange their positions, Rohan becomes 20th from the left end. How many students are there in the row?
Solution
Sunita's original position from the left = N − 15 + 1 = N − 14
After swapping, Rohan takes Sunita's place and becomes 20th from the left, so N− 14 = 20
Hence, N = 34
