Question 179

Kabir got 101 marks in Hindi, 100 marks in Science, 96 marks in Sanskrit, 108 marks in Maths and 78 marks in English. If the maximum marks of each subject are equal and if Kabir scored 84 percent marks in all the subjects together, what are the maximum marks of each subject?

Solution

Total marks obtained by kabir = 101 + 100 + 96 + 108 + 78 = 483

Let the total marks be 'x'.

It is given that Kabir got 84%.
Hence, $$\frac{84}{100}\times$$ x = 483

x = 575

As there are 5 subjects and each subject has equal maximum mark,

the max mark is = $$\frac{575}{5}$$

= 115
