What is the sum ofthe greatest three digit number and the smallest four digit number such that their HCF is 23?

Solution

Greatest Three-digit number divisible by 23

then number = $$23\times 43$$ = 989

Smallest four-digit number divisible by 23

then number = $$23\times 44 $$= 1012

so total = 989 + 1012

= 2001Ans
