Question 14

In the following question, correct the equation by interchanging the two signs.

6 ÷ 17 x 51 + 6 - 12 = - 4

Solution

Expression : 6 ÷ 17 x 51 + 6 - 12 = - 4

(A) : L.H.S. = $$6-17\times51+6\div12$$

= $$6-867+\frac{1}{2}=-860.5\neq$$ R.H.S.

(B) : L.H.S. = $$6+17\times51\div6-12$$

= $$6+144.5-12=138.5\neq$$ R.H.S.

(C) : L.H.S. = $$6\div17\times51-6+12$$

= $$6\times3+6=24\neq$$ R.H.S.

(D) : L.H.S. = $$6\times17\div51+6-12$$

= $$\frac{6}{3}-6=-4=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (D)
