Question 14

In the following question, correct the equation by interchanging two signs.
4 x 3 - 6 ÷ 2 + 7 = 8

Solution

Expression : 4 x 3 - 6 ÷ 2 + 7 = 8

By exchanging :

(A) : x and +

L.H.S. = $$4+3-6\div2\times7$$

= $$7-21=-14\neq$$ R.H.S.

(B) : x and -

L.H.S. = $$4-3\times6\div2+7$$

= $$11-9=2\neq$$ R.H.S.

(C) : ÷ and x

L.H.S. = $$4\div3-6\times2+7$$

= $$1.34-5=-3.66\neq$$ R.H.S.

(D) : - and +

L.H.S. = $$4\times3+6\div2-7$$

= $$12+3-7=8=$$ R.H.S.

=> Ans - (D)
