$$1 \times 2+1 = 3$$
$$3 \times 2+0 = 6$$
$$6 \times 2-1 = 11$$
$$11 \times 2-2 = 20$$
$$20 \times 2-3 = 37$$
$$37 \times 2-4 = 70$$
Hence, 39 is the wrong number here.
