Question 136

A single equivalent discount equivalent to three successive discounts of 10% , 16% and 25% is equal to:

Solution

Two successive discount formula = $$ - x -y +\dfrac{xy}{100} $$

we used first two successive discount = $$ -10 -16 +\dfrac{10\times16}{100}$$

$$\Rightarrow - 26 +1.6 = 24.4 $$

then again take two successive discount = $$ -24.4 -25 +\dfrac{24.4\times25}{100}$$

$$\Rightarrow - 49.4 +4.88 = 43.3 Ans $$
