A man bought oranges at the rate of 8 for 34 and sold them at the rate of 12 for 57. How many oranges should be sold to earn a net profit of 45 ?

Solution

Let , no.of oranges to be sold = x
CP = $$\frac{34}{8}$$
SP = $$\frac{57}{12}$$
we need a profit of 45rs.
45 = x(SP-CP)
45 = x($$\frac{34}{8}$$ - $$\frac{57}{12}$$)
x = 90
